These Terms and Conditions govern entry, participation, and attendance at the Sudari Awards. By entering the awards, entrants agree to comply with these terms.

    1. General
  • Entrants confirm they have read, understood, and accepted the terms outlined in the 'Award Entry' and 'Registration and Attendance' sections.
  • Entrants consent to the sharing of their personal, organisational, and project-related information with the judges and representatives of the Tamil Women Development Forum (TWDF) for administration, judging, and other authorised purposes.
    2. Eligibility
  • The Sudari Awards are open to the Sri Lankan Tamil diaspora and descendants of Sri Lankan Tamils. The 'Inspiring Individual' award is open to those in Sri Lanka.
  • Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Entrants, or the organizations they represent, must have direct involvement in the nominated project or work.
    3. Submission Guidelines
  • All entries must be submitted in English or Tamil using the official 'Entry Form,' submitted electronically or by email, along with any applicable supporting documents.
  • Entries submitted by post or hand-delivered will not be accepted.
  • Entries must be received by the submission deadline. Late, incomplete, or mislaid entries will not be considered. Proof of dispatch does not constitute proof of entry.
  • Each entry is limited to 200 words per category area (Objectives, Strategy, Execution, Results). Supporting documents are exempt from this word limit.
    4. Multiple Entries and Re-nominations
  • Entrants may submit nominations in multiple categories, provided each entry is tailored to the specific category.
  • Unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated in subsequent years.
  • Award winners are not eligible for re-nomination for the next three award cycles.
  • The number of times an individual is nominated will not influence the judging process.
    5. Judging Process
  • An independent panel of judges will evaluate entries without influence from TWDF or any external parties.
  • Up to three finalists (winners, 1st runners-up, and 2nd runners-up) will be shortlisted in each category and notified by email approximately four weeks before the awards ceremony.
  • All three finalists will be announced during the awards ceremony and listed on the official Sudari Awards website and TWDF's social media channels. Winners will not be announced before the event.
    6. Awards Ceremony
  • Finalists will receive certificates, and winners will receive trophies at the event.
  • All guests must purchase tickets in advance online or upon arrival.
  • The event organizers reserve the right to reschedule or alter the awards ceremony, judging panel, or these Terms and Conditions without prior notice.
    7. Judges' Discretion
  • The judges and TWDF reserve the right to:
  • Reject any entry without explanation.
  • Withhold awards in categories where entries do not meet the required standards.
  • Amend category selections or disqualify entries containing inaccurate, false, or misleading information.
  • The judges' decisions are final. No correspondence or feedback regarding the outcomes will be provided.
    8. Liability and Responsibilities
  • TWDF is not responsible for:
  • Costs associated with entering or attending the awards (e.g., travel, accommodation, or visa arrangements).
  • Loss or damage to personal belongings during the event.
  • Financial losses resulting from event rescheduling or cancellation due to circumstances beyond TWDF's control (e.g., natural disasters, national emergencies, or pandemics).
  • Attendees are advised to obtain appropriate insurance for their property and liability.
    9. Media and Publicity
  • By entering the awards, all entrants, finalists, and winners grant TWDF the exclusive right to use their names, trademarks, logos, images, and content for promotional purposes related to the awards and TWDF's activities.
  • Photography and filming will occur during the event, and attendees consent to the use of their images for marketing and promotional purposes.
    10. Data Protection
  • Entrants' details will be added to TWDF's database for efficient processing and communication related to the awards and future events.
  • Entrants may opt out of receiving additional information by contacting TWDF committee members.
